Responsibilities
- Develop new and support existing Tempest products, search extensions, and others.
- Work with Product Management, as well as other stakeholders (Backend, Design, DevOps, etc.) to conceptualize and execute new features.
- Help define internal standards for style, maintainability, and security best practices for our front-end projects. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code reviews.
- Invest in building automated tests and improving coverage and testing strategy in your area of responsibility.
- Help identify areas of improvement, mentor, and collaborate with other front-end engineers in areas specific to your projects and across Tempest as a whole.
- A solid understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Typescript.
- Experience working with WebExtensions.
- Experience working with a front-end framework/library such as React, Vue, or Svelte.
- Capacity to clearly communicate complex technical, architectural, and/or organizational problems and propose thorough iterative solutions.
- Experience with writing automated tests (eg. Jest, Jasmine, Mocha).
- Experience using Git in a professional/workplace environment.
- Experience with performance and optimization problems and a demonstrated ability to diagnose, fix and prevent these problems.
- Hands-on knowledge with common front-end development tools such as Webpack, NPM, etc.
- Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, is sufficient for success in an international work environment.
Bonus Points For
- Authoring and publishing a browser extension on Chrome Web Store, Mozilla Addons or other public store.
- Experience migrating a Manifest v2 extension to Manifest v3.
